Boom Lift Tips
An aerial boom is a great device to help staff reach high places from the comfort of a metal deck. These machinery are available in a variety of styles and sizes, that depends on the model. These kinds of lifts can run on diesel or gasoline engines and also from electrical batteries. Boom lifts are specifically able to raise occupants up to heights of 150 feet. In order to safely use these lifts, the operator must wear approved harnesses which are attached to the lifting platform.

How High Do I Need to Go?
Prior to choosing a lift, it is wise to evaluate the task you would be performing. If able, measure the height form the ground to the work location. Before starting, scout out the location which the lift would be traveling since uneven terrain would utilize a different boom lift as opposed to a work area on asphalt or concrete. The job location is also extremely appointment. Lifts which will be moving a lot will provide better service if they are gas or diesel powered. The battery powered models should be recharged more frequently as they would run down fast after great distances are traveled, despite the differences in terrain.

Before starting a job, make sure you are familiar with operating the machinery. Also, perform a daily inspection by inspecting all the components and do a visual check around the machinery. Check the tires and make sure that they are inflated properly to the correct pressure. Visually inspect underneath the lift to be sure that noting is caught on the undercarriage. Safety checks can be the difference between keeping the operator and people around them safe.
