A kind of machine in the material handling business which can be utilized to raise and move loads from one location to another is known as a forklift. Every part of a forklift has a particular function. Different parts could be used to move the load either horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The parts utilized to lower and lift the load is called the forklift mast. There are various types of masts used for lifting loads to different heights: quad, simplex, duplex and triplex.
Power Supply
There are four different ways you can power a forklift: gas, electric, propane and diesel. The battery is located in the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is beneath the back of the truck.
Cab
Situated in the center of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The gas pedal, steering wheel, lifting controls, tilting controls and brake are all situated in the cab.
Frame
The truck frame carries all the largest parts of the forklift, including the counterweights, which are situated at the rear in order to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard which protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
